1-2, Premier League, Craven Cottage, 2012-01-02
Koscielny 21
Now we've started the year as bad as it can be... So now it can only get better... right? To be honest we've had this coming for quite some time now... Can't recall the last time we scored more than one goal in a game... To be fair can't recall when we conceded more than once either until this game... But that's what I mean with 'we've had this coming for quite some time now'. It was only a matter of time until we got some referee who seemed to be high during most of the game and had a man sent off outrageously. Am not going to blame it all on the ref though, we should by far be able to keep a lead for about fifteen minutes with ten men.
The most likely outcome of all this is that all other top teams will win tomorrow (Chelsea won earlier today. That sure was a long, glorious return to the top four) and last weekend will weigh itself out. We will most likely even end up worse off than last weekend as Tottenham at least managed a draw last weekend, and now we've lost...
We had a brilliant first half. We put tons of pressure on Fulham and Koscielny headed us in front when Ramsey provided with a splendid cross.
I have no idea what happened during half time or whatever, but in the second half we hardly ever left our own half of the pitch. Then the ref had the time of his life as he gave Djourou a second yellow card when it in any world (or according to any other ref) wouldn't even have been a first yellow... However, we still ought to have hold on to our lead and got the three points.
So we've started the season with zero points... Brilliant...
Injury Update;
-As Djourou was sent off and Vermaelen is still injured we have now lost our two 'stand in' fullbacks, so let's see how it will look on next Monday against Leeds.
