4-0, Premier League, DW Stadium, 2011-12-03
Arteta 28,
Vermaelen 29,
Gervinho 61,
van Persie 78
It was a pure joy to watch the Arsenal today.
We had a pretty rough start, though, we didn't really impress with our play in the first half hour, but once we broke the deadlock we played with free-flowing passes and touches.
Arteta opened the scoring with an amazing shot! The Wigan 'keeper probably should have done better to save it, but it was still quite some shot from the Spaniard. Just one minute later Vermaelen doubled the scoreline when he headed a Van Persie
corner in the back of the net.
We began the second half in similar fashion as we ended the first, with domination and great play. As van Persie's shot was blocked, Gervinho popped up to smash in the third goal of the evening and his third goal for the season. The Dutchman got to finish the scoring of the afternoon when Walcott raced down the right-hand side and fed van Persie with a pass that required little more than a tap-in. Great link-up between the two strikers and Theo showed how unselfish one can be.
