Arsenal vs. Everton

1-0, Premier League, Emirates, 2011-12-10
van Persie 70

Congratulations to Arsenal upon celebrating its 125th years anniversary! And congratulations to Robin van Persie upon scoring a goal that will be up amongst the very best of strikes of the 2011/2012 campaign!
It seems somehow fitting that we should win with 1-0 as well, remembering the old days with 'Boring Arsenal', George Graham was in the stands today with many more legends of the past. Before the game they were all saluted, part of celebrating the 125 years. Yesterday the club unveiled three statutes outside the Emirates, one of Herbert Chapman, one of Tony Adams and one of Thierry Henry, who was there when the statue was unveiled and he got really emotional, having to wipe off a tear during his speech.

Anyway, it was the game of today that had the real importance and it turned out to be quite a frustrating affair. We had tons of really great chances to score in the first half but somehow just couldn't put it in the back of the net.
The second half started in more or less the same fashion, but the came the moment of magic from the flying Dutchman! Song picked out the striker with an amazing pass and Robin van Persie hit the ball on volley, and it was truly mind-blowing!

We held on for the rest of the game with some ease and when the whistle was blown the joy was so immense that Szczesny ran and kissed the skipper's left boot! Memorable pictures indeed!

Injury Update;
-Today we had to field four centre-halves in the back four, as we don't have any full-backs left! Praying for us to recover some of them, soon!
