2-1, Premier League, Villa Park, 2011-12-21
van Persie 17 (pen),
Benayoun 87
A vital win! To be honest I really didn't see us grabbing that late winner, we weren't at our best in this game. Van Persie has now equalled Thierry Henry's club record of 34 goals on a calender year! Great achievement.
As mentioned we weren't at our best in this game and we had a really bad beginning of both the first and the second half. But we grew into the game and when Walcott was pulled in the box there was really only going to be one player to step up and take the penalty. Robin van Persie smashed it home to give us the lead!
Aston Villa scored the equalizer in the beginning of the second half, but we didn't give up and in the end it paid off as Yossi Benayoun scored with his head from a corner! Quite shocking but definitely appreciated!
So now my Christmas is saved! Can enjoy the weekend and then look ahead for the clash against Wolves on the 27th.
Injury Update;
-Gibbs has suffered a setback, it is not known how serious but maybe a couple of weeks or so.
-Djourou will be out for a couple of weeks after the injury he picked up against Manchester City.
