Arsenal vs. Barcelona

2-1, Champions League, Emirates, 16/2 -11
van Persie 78,
Arshavin 83

We may not be the best team in the world, but we are certainly well on the wa!

To be honest I have no idea how to write about this... Other than it was MAJOR for this team and tie... Of course the hardest part is still to come at Nou Camp, but we certainly have something to fight for now!
I just have to say that we were all brilliant yesterday, the atmosphere was most probably the best I've witnessed during my close to three years supporting the club! But there were two players in particular that I'd like to pay tribute to, Jack Wilshere and Laurent Koscielny, Jack was outstanding in the midfield, I honestly can't remember one time when he lost the ball! And Laurent truly proved why the boss signed him this summer, he was brilliant! He stopped attack after attack and never faltered once, apart from the one goal that Villa scored when Koscielny tried to play offside but Clichy was further down in the field then.

We started the first half well but eventually Barca started to gain more possession, though that was hardly a surprise.
When Barca started to get more and more possession we looked the most dangerous when Walcott could start a counter, but the first half ended 0-1.

In the second half we got to see more of the ball and created some great chances, we looked really organized throughout the entire game actually, but it was in the second half that we started to see more of the ball.
Then Clichy found van Persie on the left-hand side, I was sitting there expecting a cross, but all of a sudden the ball was in the back of the net !! Now that is what you call a stunner!! The angle was so tight that even when the Dutchman was asked after the game how he scored, he had no idea!
Just five minutes later the truly unexpected happened, Nasri led a counter-attack and found Arshavin with space enough to get a shot away, and the little Russian placed the ball in the back of the net like he had ice running through his veins!

We held on to the lead after that and the feeling when the ref blew the whistle (not that you could actually hear him do that, you knew when the players started to celebrate) is just indescribable, for me, thats pure joy!

Injury Update;
-Djourou will miss the FA-cup game against Leyton Orient this weekend due to a back problem
-Walcott picked up a small hamstring problem, but should be fine for the weekend
