Arsenal vs. Swansea

1-0, Premier League, Emirates, 10/9 -11
Arshavin 40

Wasn't a convincing win, but immensely important to get the first win of the season! It was interesting to see some of the new boys today, Arteta and Mertesacker started the game whilst Benayoun came on later in the second half, all of them did very well, certainly looks like the manager has done some good investments!

We started the game really well, and almost at once Arteta played a brilliant ball to Ramsey who unfortunately didn't manage to put the ball in the back of the net. It took a mistake from Vorm, the Swansea 'keeper, for us the score in this game, and it happened in the 40th minute. Vorm had just picked the ball up and decided to throw it to the player that was right next to Arshavin, the Swansea defender wasn't prepared for this so the ball bounced on his heel straight to Arshavin who at once scored from a really tight angle! A beautiful finish from the Russian!

We dropped a bit of level in the later first half and second half, which is a bit troublesome but hopefully we will improve til tuesday when we face Dortmund away! Anyway, van Persie did hit the woodwork in the second half but that was just about as close as we got in the second half.

So am definitely looking forward to seeing more of the new boys and hopefully see the entire team improve to bring a title home this season! It will take a lot of hard work but I am sure that we're up for the challenge!

Injury Update;
-Vermaelen will be out for at least one more month as he had to have surgery on his ankle.
-Wilshere won't be back for at least another two months.
-Diaby should be back any week now, so at least some good news! And both Song and Gervinho have now finished serving their suspensions from the Newcastle game!
