Norwich vs. Arsenal

0-1, Premier League, Carrow Road, 2012-10-20

It would seem as though we often suffer from the 'post-internationals syndrome'. On far more than one occasion we have not showed up for the first game back after internationals, needless to say it is a huge disappointment.

To be honest, the only positive I can find from this game is that Wilshere was on the bench! Even though he did not come on for this game, he cannot be far from making that long-awaited return now!

The goal conceded today should have been dealt with better, Mannone did not manage to hold onto the shot and Mertesacker was not quick enough to reach the rebound before the Norwich player. However, I do not think it right to put the blame on any particular players when the entire team played, as the manager put it, below par.

All that remains is a good reaction to this defeat with a vital win over Schalke 04 on Wednesday evening to put us at the top of the group in the Champions League!

Injury Update;
- Gibbs and Walcott are both close to returning from injury, possibly next weekend.
- Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up an injury within minutes of coming on in this game, not sure how serious the injury is though.
- Sagna is not far from returning to the first team, he has played a game for the reserves recently.
