I've only got one word to sum up this game with, disappointment, I'm honestly close to question whether the players want this trophy or not.
We hardly even showed up for this game, we were really close to scoring several times but just didn't seem up to it in the end.
The first real good chance we had came in the first half when Wilshere were completely clean in the middle of the box, but somehow he wasn't prepared for the pass from Walcott and failed to hit the target.
Nasri got what seemed to be a really serious head injury as close to half of his head swelled up, but he actually kept going throughout the game and didn't seem too bothered by it, it sure looked real nasty though.
We had several more real close chances in the game but as mentioned just didn't seem up to it, and that is certainly not good enough if you want to win the league, and now it's not in our own hands anymore.
Injury Update;
-We had lots of players coming back from injury for this game, Fabregas, Walcott, Song and Diaby.
-Song appeared to be limping towards the end of the game but I haven't heard anything about it.
-Nasri was reportedly just fine, and since he continued to play close to the entire game I don't think there's any reason to worry.
Now I just have one more thing to add, which is really good news for a change, on the 13th of May (now that I think of it, it's Friday the 13th actually...),, anyway, I'll fly to London to stay the weekend and watch Arsenal vs. Aston Villa on the Sunday! Like last year it's a birthday present, and once again it's most certainly the best I've been given!
So it was all smiles here in Sweden before yesterdays dreadful game!

March Goal of the Month
This month's goal of the month comes a bit early as its an international break at the moment. My vote this month went to Clichy, as it was quite a collector's item, and indeed a great strike as well! I almost found myself voting for van Persie's late equalizer against West Brom last weekend, I just love the passion you can see as he desperately throws himself toward the ball!

In the end it was one point gained rather than two points dropped, since we made a great comeback in the final twenty minutes. But I see trouble in the not too distant future if this is how Almunia will act in games to come...
W.B.A scored after just three minutes through a header from a corner, but from then on we dominated in possession and goal-scoring opportunities.
Though as we didn't manage to score it all got really nervy, we were particularly close in the first half when van Persie headed the ball, only for it to hit the crossbar, then the rebound fell nicely to Ramsey, but by the time he got a shot away Carson had already spread himself well to make the save.
In the second half we pushed more and more, but then the unthinkable happened, as a ball was played to Odemwingie (who was closely watched by Squillaci) Almunia went out (!) and completely mistimed the whole thing so Odemwingie could easily just put a daisy-cutter into the net ...
But we created a great comeback, and lots of credit to Arshavin, it really was his amazing shot that set it all into motion, and what a shot it was! And it was nicely set up by Chamakh.
And then came the goal that should have won us the game, had it not been for Almunia, but at least it gave us the one point! It's certainly not van Persie's most beautiful goal, but it was a vital one! He fought hard some yard from the goal and eventually managed to get a foot to the ball which a W.B.A defender seemed to have some trouble getting away!
So it was a bittersweet trip to Birmingham, but we've still got the league in our hands!
Injury Update;
-Fabregas will most probably be back after the international break, hopefully the same applies to Walcott.
-Vermaelen has been ruled out for the entire season, really sad news for us but he'll be back on the pitch for the next season, Djourou is likely to be in the same position, but he might make it back for the last couple of games.
-Not an injury update but Jens Lehmann has returned to cover for Almunia until the end of the season!
-There is no news about Song's injury problem.

Manchester United vs. Arsenal
0-2, the FA-cup, Old Trafford, 12/3 -11
Once again we find ourselves with nothing even though we've been the better team by far.. Though it may sound wrong to say that we were the better team even though we got nothing, but with Arsenal anything is possible, isn't that right?
We pretty much more or less dominated in possession, and we definitely had more shots on and off goal than United! But no matter how close we got it just wasn't our day and the ball wouldn't go in.
And when we pressed more than ever in the final ten minutes Djourou picked up a serious shoulder injury in a challenge with Hernandez, and had to be stretched off the pitch.
So we were down to ten men and two goals down with something like ten minutes left... What to do? Well, we actually managed to get to some more opportunities, while Ramsey (who came on to make his long awaited comeback in the second half) deputized as centre-half for the remainer of the game, though he did move up to midfield as soon as we had the ball.
In the end you could tell that we had some more tired legs than Man Utd, as they didn't have a midweek clash whereas we had one of the most daunting away games you can ever face, away against Barcelona, widely regarded as the best team in the world.
A couple of weeks ago I believe every Arsenal fan were convinced that we'd bring home a trophy this season (heck, I even thought we could take two!), but not so sure anymore... Though we will definitely have a good go at the league these final weeks! And who knows, if we do well enough in the remaining games we might very well end up with a trophy in may! But to do that we have to start scoring again, would you honestly believe that we haven't scored in the last three games?
Injury Update;
-No idea about Djourou yet, but we can most probably expect him to be out for the next couple of weeks.
-Hopefully Vermaelen will be back, SOON! Haven't heard anything about him since he was expected to be back for the Barcelona clash.
-Looking at the other side of the pitch,, Walcott is hopefully back soon, but don't have any update on it yet.
-Szczesny will be out for about six weeks with a dislocated finger as well as a tendon problem.
-Fabregas had a recurrence of his hamstring problem fifteen minutes into the Barcelona game, and he will have to wait for another couple of games until he returns.
-Song missed both this game and the Barcelona game, but he may make it back for next weekend.

Barcelona vs. Arsenal
3-1, Champions League, Nou Camp, 8/3 -11
Outrageous from the ref, sure we were outplayed by Barca for most of the game but we kept the score-line down until a certain Swiss referee stepped in! van Persie had picked up one yellow in the first half (which we came out of a goal down), after just about an hour played van Persie was flagged offside, though he didn't noticed and took the shot, the ref showed him red !! Completely unbelievable, there were more than 90 000 people in the stadium shouting and whistling, van Persie was far from the referee, the ref blows his whistle like a second or two before van Persie makes contact with the ball, what the fuck does he think will happen!? You would think that the ref, who is actually in the stadium with the players and can hear all that noise, would understand the situation and avoid ruining the game for us! Not even Wilshere could hear the whistle, and he was virtually next to the referee ! What makes it even worse is that we had actually pulled one back and was currently in the next round of the Champions League! (though it was a Busquets own goal).
But now we must look ahead to the FA cup game at Old Trafford on saturday, now that is a game I'm sure that we can win!

-Don't really know much else at the moment, except for the fact that Frimpong will be back and training next week after being out for seven months !

Arsenal vs. Sunderland

We're catching up with Man Utd, but perhaps it is going a bit too slow... Always just catching up with one point when we have the chance to gain three,, let's just hope that Liverpool can nick some points off United tomorrow!
Its hard to take just the one point considering all the chances we had, Arshavin had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside, he was as well denied a penalty which should have been his, and this I don't say just because I'm an Arsenal fan, any other football fan would agree with me, I base that on the fact that dad agreed, and he is a United fan!
Slow and Steady seem to be way to go for us this season as we catch up with United at the top. But now it is time to look ahead to the midweek clash in Barcelona.

February Goal Of The Month
In February Arsenal scored 13 goals, and Van Persie dominated the scoring this time! My personal favorite was his strike against Barcelona, and it was leading the poll at the time I voted!
