Goal of the Season

It was, as always, really hard to pick one of all these great strikes! in the end I considered Nasri's to vs Fulham and van Persie's vs Barcelona, however, I eventually decided to go for Nasri's first vs Fulham, it was just pure magic to me!

Fulham vs. Arsenal

2-2, Premier League, Craven Cottage, 22/5 -11
van Persie 29
Walcott 89

That's that for another season... Disappointing end for us as we've finished fourth when we not too long ago were in with a great shout for the title.. To look at things positively we'll be seing the players sooner than we had had they finished third, but then again, that's not particularly positive...

As most of the games lately we looked off in this one, sure, we have lots of possession and some decent efforts to score, but we've just looked like the shadow of Arsenal from earlier this season.
Fulham took the lead but just four minutes later van Persie got us back level with yet another great strike! With this strike he has scored 18 goals on half-a-season, making him the third player to ever have achieved that, he stands alongside Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo on that feat.

For the second half we turned up even worse, but after Fulham got a man sent off we pushed on a bit more and Walcott got us a point late in the game.

So to sum this season up, it only takes one word; Disappointing.
But we look forward to next season and there's already been some talk about new investments in the summer, no names but Wenger has mentioned he will add some to the "base" of the team... Wonder how that will turn out...

Injury Update;
-Fabregas didn't make it for this game, same goes for Clichy, who has been on the sidelines for a while as well.

Arsenal vs. Aston Villa

1-2, Premier League, Emirates, 15/5 -11
van Persie 89

As I have mentioned earlier I was at the Emirates watching this game! Unfortunately it seemed as though the team didn't turn up for this game.
To find ourselves two-nil down after something like twenty minutes is not a favourable position, we would obviously have been able to turn it around had we got a goal back quickly, but we saw shots hit the posts and had penalty shouts denied, it just wasn't to be.

I did get to see my first goal scored at the Emirates, and another strike from Robin van Persie! After some chaos in the Villa box the ball bounced to the Dutchman who struck it at once!

After this defeat I'd say that the season can't end soon enough for us, hopefully there will be some new signings in the summer who can add something different to the team.

Injury Update;
-Vermaelen started this game! It has been quite some time since we last saw him, but he looked as though he had never been back, I can't recall a single mistake from him!
-Fabregas will miss the remainer of the season after having a set-back on his thigh injury.
-Nasri has a slight chance to play against Fulham, the last game of the season.

Stoke vs. Arsenal

1-3, Premier League, Britannia Stadium, 8/5 -11
van Persie 81

A very dismal display from the team today, it seemed as though we never truly showed up for the game in the end...
But we can be really proud of our striker RvP, who has now scored in his last eight away games! With his goal today he extended the record he earned two weeks ago to eight, which is quite something!

Stoke scored twice in the first half and for the second half both Chamakh and Bendtner came on to give us something special, but it wasn't to be today.
As mentioned it was a really poor display and even though we got back in it after van Persie's great strike we pretty much at once found ourselves two-goals down again.

There really isn't too much more to say about this game, I just hope that we will come up with a much better game next sunday, as I'll be at the Emirates then! I go to London on friday, and will return to Sweden on monday night.

Injury Update;
-Vermaelen was on the bench today, hopefully he'll play next week.
-Fabregas and Nasri both missed this game, but I hope they'll be back for the Villa game, especially the captain, as he was injured last time I went to the Emirates as well!

Arsenal vs. Manchester United

1-0, Premier League, Emirates, 1/5 -11
Ramsey 56

That was some performance from the team! For once we actually manage to hold on to a lead, that's certainly not something we're famous for, but in the end it was a great team performance that got us the three points, but it was more to this game than just some points, we needed this for our confidence as that has dropped radically the last month or so.
Earlier in the season this game was spoken of as a title-decider, even though it may not quite have worked out for us in that concern, (though we have a really, really tiny chance on the title still..) we have at least had something to say in the title-race.

We played brilliant football in the first half, and should have been given a penalty when Vidic clearly handled the ball after a cross from Walcott, but nevertheless the score was nil-nil after the first half.

Overall in the second half it was more competitive than the first, but we got that important goal through a great counter-attack from which van Persie managed to find Ramsey in the box and the young Welshman produced a great shot to score his first goal since breaking his leg last year.
United put some pressure on us but we managed well and didn't gave them many chances to score from. A bonus to this was the fact that Szczesny had a faultless game, he surely was brilliant.

So great stuff from the lads to earn us a morale-boosting win ahead of the final three games.

Injury Update;
-Fabregas was injured in training, no news yet as to how bad the injury is, but for now let's just be glad that his replacer managed to win the game for us!
-Nasri didn't return to the pitch for the second half, he picked up some kind of knock in the first half, don't think that it's too serious though.
-Djourou hobbled off in the second half, there's for sure a risk of him missing the rest of the season...
-Vermaelen played for the reserves last Thursday and reportedly had a pretty much faultless game, so hopefully he'll be back for the trip to Stoke next week.
